The journal publishes novel experimental and theoretical works on physics and chemistry of membranes and cells, focused on the object rather than on the methods of its investigation. It s a multidisciplinary periodical which relies on different approaches: biophysical, biochemical, cytological, molecular-biological, etc. Recently the scope of the journal has been extended due to addition of cell biology field and includes papers devoted to membrane aspects of cellular processes.
